Clinical data shows that before the pandemic, bloodstream infection (BSI) rates were on a steady decline, but with the pandemic, priorities in infection prevention have changed and today we are starting to see an upward trend across the country. With the attenuation of Covid-19 cases and their complications, we have the opportunity to gather tips and strategies to rebuild and re-implement infection prevention practices related to BSIs. Additionally, we have the opportunity to review the new ICHE compendium which is a SHEA/IDSA/APIC Practice Recommendation published in April 2022.
