Medline’s Response Plan on COVID-19

  • Provided By:

Everyone at Medline would like to sincerely thank all of the healthcare providers and their teams for their work and care during this global pandemic. COVID-19 is pushing everyone to their limits, and we stand firm in our promise to provide the vital medical supplies required to help keep patients and staff safe.

As we began working through this unprecedented time, Medline invested early on in airfreighting PPE from Asia to shave weeks off manufacturing-to-dock time. We doubled manufacturing of reusable facemasks and surgical gowns. Medline also has been producing 200,000 bottles of hand sanitizer gel per week after redeploying manufacturing capabilities at facilities in Wisconsin and is on pace to pump out 400,000 bottles of hand sanitizer a week by the end of April. At the same time, our Meriden, Conn., plant increased production of its 1.5 mL packets of gel-based hand sanitizer from 200,000 packets per month to 4,000,000 packets per month. All told, Medline’s 10,000 employees in manufacturing, warehouses and distribution are working around the clock for healthcare and continue to produce, distribute and deliver as much product as possible to help during this fight.

This new norm will force us to be even more vigilant about what comes through our doors. Medline shares in APIC’s determination to create a safer world through the prevention of infection.

We want to thank the association’s nearly 16,000 members – the infection preventionists, nurses, physicians, public health professionals, epidemiologists, microbiologists, and medical technologists – who selflessly work behind the scenes to provide critical guidance each day.
